Man created god (some negative attributes of God)

Genesis 1:27 states: ' So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.' When in fact the opposite is true, it should read man created God in his own image. According to christian theologians the main attributes of God are omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence in plain English it means that he is all powerful, all knowing, and present everywhere. There are many ways I can use the very scriptures themselves to refute all of these claims, but that is not my goal for this post but I promise I will do that in a future post sometime soon.

My goal in this post is to address some of the lesser attributes of the biblical God. The attributes I am referring to are those attributes that are mirror reflections of the attributes of mankind in general. I would not like to waste your time here by analyzing and criticizing those benevolent attributes such as love, patience, sympathy etc. I will focus on the most negative and detrimental attributes of the biblical God, the very attributes that make mankind one of the ugliest creatures to ever walk the Earth. Those attributes that our parents tell us we should never feel or have toward anyone of our fellow human beings or animals that share this lovely planet with us.

One of the things I find most troubling about this biblical god is his ego, he seems to get off on the attention that is given to him by his many worshipers and does not hesitate to remind them where he freed them from. One of the things about being a successful Christian is that you have to be good at fanning Gods ego, he likes to be constantly reminded that he is great, and worthy of you ruining your good pair of slacks by kneeling in his presence at all times. There is a word for people like that, and it suits god just as well; it is megalomaniac, which in short is a pathological egotist.

Another thing god does not like is that you worship any other gods Genesis 20:9 for he is a jealous God. Being a man who has never suffered from jealousies I think that this is one of the most ridiculous and stupid sentiments of man, especially when it is directed towards a woman or lover of the same sex. Most psychiatrists and relationship experts would say that a person that is overly jealous suffers from confidence issues or low self esteem. Could it be possible that the biblical God suffers from such a stupid and I dare say asinine affliction? Gods own actions in the scriptures indicate to me that he does. Here is another thing that I think is stupid beyond belief, if he is the only one and true god then why would he be jealous of other gods created by men? Obviously they don't exist so why all the fuss? I guess you will have to ask a theologian about that one since they are the ones who claim to know the mind of god.

I feel that in today's world most Christians are misrepresenting the biblical God. They only tell you that he is love, peace, understanding, that he wants to save you and give you life eternal etc. What they don't tell you is that in Deuteronomy 4:24,25 it states that he is a consuming fire, he is jealous, and that you basically don't want to provoke him to anger. Now I don't know about you but isn't anger one of those negative emotions we are always taught to control? Don't we have anger management counseling for such things as lack of control? Based on Gods actions and his many tantrums over the pettiest of offenses I think that in today's world God could use himself a full course on anger management. Killing thousands for worshiping nonexistent gods, or for stealing, or for any other petty offense is way beyond extreme.

  1. The bible does a terrific job of describing my first (now former) wife.

Vain, petty, jealous, easily provoked, quick to anger....and most of all: NEVER satisfied with my best efforts.

Suffice it to say: God is a real cunt....and so was Carol.

  3. Hmmmm, great points, except the Bible wasn't written by God, it was written by man and the selection of bibical books were chosen by man. It has stories of incest, adultry and other abhorant "lessons" that I rather not mention. I started learning the Bible as a kid, but soon outgrew it. I just teach my kids to be good and be kind and smile! Organized religion is a waste of time. I am not however, atheist. I refrain from judging others and try to do the right thing! To each his own!

  4. Brenda, I know the bible wasn't written by god because he does not exist. But the authors of the scriptures claimed that they were inspired by god to write his biography. Christians claim absolute knowledge basing themselves on what they learn from the bible.

I agree with you that you don't need religion to raise children to be honest and decent people.

  7. Lmao Anonymous! God is real? That is the funniest thing I have ever heard. You have the nerve to call me a bunch of derogatory names just because I don't believe in the same myths you do. The only one who is showing his ignorance here is you! Read a book and get your head out of the bible for awhile. Educate yourself then come back and talk to me.

By the way the theory of evolution by way of natural selection is a better way of explaining the origins of man as a species then any bible can ever hope to do. It appears that your beliefs are based on "I can't explain it, so God did! Moron! lol

I have no time for ignorant, indoctrinated mental midgets such as yourself. But thank for commenting anyway lmfao!!

    1. renz what you fail to understand is that I've been there and done that. I gave your imaginary guy in the sky a try and he failed. Why did he fail? Because he does not exist outside the mind of the deluded. You need God because you are too weak to accept reality. But to each his own you can believe as you wish I could care less. I know enough than to argue with someone who is convinced beyond reason that imaginary beings are real. I bet you believe in Santa Clause too.

I would love to see your evidence for the existence of God as long as it is not based on your subjective and delusional experiences.
