Christianity is an illusion!

Ever since I was a child I had a great fascination with magic. Not the conjuring type of mythology but rather the art of illusion. I took in every magic show that was broadcast on television and even had a list of favorite magicians who I watched and read about often in books or publications about them. I was a sucker for the big stage magic and the many illusions where men would fly across a stage seemingly in mid-air without the aid of wires etc. They made large things seemingly disappear such as cars, planes, and even the Statue of Liberty!

One day I decided to buy a book on magic and as I read through it I came to realize that it was all a sham. This book covered stage magic and it revealed all of the most common methods to create amazing illusions. I never was interested in performing magic, I was more interested in learning how it was done. After having read that book I lost all my respect for stage magic because I realized that the magician literally did next to nothing! His whole role on the stage was presentation, but the real magic was handled for the most part by stage hands behind the scenes.

Once the show 'Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed' aired for the first time on television, I had a pretty good idea how he did most of the big stage illusions people were most familiar with. I loved it when he would demonstrate how the trick looked before anyone knew how it was done and then later show exactly how it was done!

Even after magics secrets were aired on television and easier to find online and pretty much anywhere, I came away with a greater respect for prestidigitation (manual dexterity in the execution of tricks). I found that coin and card magic was a skill that actually took a lot of practice and time to master; and to this day those are the types of magic tricks that awe and inspire me.

You may ask yourself why am I discussing magic on an atheist blog. The reason is quite simple: religious beliefs and the belief in God are very similar to magic. This reminds me of the scene in The Wizard of Oz when Dorothy notices that man behind the curtain.

When I took to reading the bible in its entirety for the first time I remember going through a gamut of emotions. I literally cried when God told Moses that he could not go into the promised land simply because he hit a rock instead of talking to it in order to provide water for his people. That act of disobedience according to the story caused Moses to lose out on the promised land. Actually, he didn't miss much because God did not tell them that they had to go into those already inhabited lands and wage war on its citizens. He did not tell Moses that they had to kill men, women, and children and that although he gave that land to them they had to wrest it from it inhabitants through murder, rape, and pillaging.

My idea of God before I read the bible was the traditional one where he loved mankind above everything. We were the apple of his eye and we were chosen above all of his creation to be in his image. When I felt down or things were just not going my way I found comfort in prayer and in knowing that it was all in God's hands. I felt honored that Christ would give up his life so that I may live forever in the presence of my Lord. I worshiped and prayed constantly and poured out my heart to my imaginary friend named Jesus.

Before I read the bible God was safely tucked away behind this curtain or veil of love, peace, understanding, etc. What I read in the bible was an utter shock to me! I saw God massacre thousands for the slightest infractions of his laws. He seemed to delight in watching men tremble with fear at his very presence and voice. Most of all he loved blood sacrifices like the many deities from other cultures that existed before him. The veil of lies had been removed and the true face of God had finally been revealed, and I did not like what I saw.

Today as I reflect upon those days I see the biblical deity in a much different light. When I see God I see a tyrant, a maniac, a psychopath, and a mythological being. I see that this god could not possibly exist and if he did then he did not deserve my love, worship, or respect. Worshiping the biblical deity in my mind is akin to giving homage to famed serial killer John Wayne Gayce or to Mao, Stalin, or Hitler. What do they all have in common? They were all murderers with no concern for the harm they caused and the lives that yhey have taken. Christianity is one big illusion. What is the illusion? The illusion that God loves and cares for you and that you will live forever.

Love the Lord with all your heart

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37 (NIV).

I've actually written a little bit about this subject a while back on my blog, but I would like to expound upon it further here. Many times when discussing religious issues with theists particularly Christians, we come to the conclusion that they are blinded by faith. Usually we arrive at this conclusion after presenting them with damning information present in their own texts about their God. We show them that God is not merciful, just, or loving. We show them the many massacres he supposedly and miraculously carried out, we tell them about the many times that he commanded the Hebrews to murder entire cities including women and children, yet they don't budge.

The typical theistic response to all of these accusations made by atheists on the matter is that all of the victims of God's wrath deserved what they got; because they were sinners! They often like to turn the accusatory finger on us and say with anger "who are you to judge God!" They then skip over all the evil the Lord has done and remind us that he gave his only son to save us from perdition and eternal torment in hell. But what is the real reason for this devotion? What makes a believer overlook the inconsistencies in the bible, their deities misconduct, his crimes against humanity?

I have come to believe that the one emotion that has the power to shut down rational thinking and cripple your ability to logically assess a situation is love. We see the power of love active in our lives in both positive and negative ways every day. When two people love each other and respect each other, love can be a wonderful thing. Your every waking moment has thoughts of the one who you have devoted your life and heart to. You dream of them, and when you are apart for too long you begin to long to be in  their presence. Sometimes you share your most intimate thoughts and experiences from each others past and you enjoy each others company.

What people fail to realize is that love also has a dark side. There are those who take love to the extreme. They take it to the point where this love becomes obsessive and dangerous to those involved, and like even the biblical God admits it leads to jealousy.

“You shall have no other gods before me.

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:3-6 (NIV).

What this text describes is not love but obsession. It's a command to love God, and woe unto those who do not heed this command! God suffers from one of mans most harmful and damaging emotions: jealousy!! The fact that he punishes those that do not follow him or devote their love to him demonstrates that God is a control freak. He is a megalomaniac who loves the idea of people crying and groveling at his feet begging for mercy and acknowledging his greatness. Does this sound familiar?

Yeah, I said it! God is a domestic violence abuser! According to the bible we are his "children," Christ referred to the church as his bride and yet we are subject live in fear for not worshiping God. We are told that salvation is a free gift but there is nothing free about this gift unless you acknowledge that you are a sinner, and that you are willing to bend your will to please God. This so called free gift comes with a lot of unwanted baggage. Self sacrifice is the biggest part of this contract which basically states: Do as I say and not as I do! Obey or else!

This is not love this is spousal abuse! But I digress from my original issue here. Why is it that theists no matter how many evil things their God does, do not see the evil in God? It's not just because of faith my friends. It's because of love and devotion to the deity they have chosen to give their lives to. Teens and adults have been known to commit suicide or even murder in response to losing someone they loved obsessively. Love when taken to the extreme clouds the mind and skews your judgement on all other matters.

No one demonstrates this best than women who are subjected to domestic violence. After having the police respond to a domestic dispute, and after having taken a beating at the hands of the one that professes to love them; they still don't want him to get arrested! They blame themselves often for his lack of self control. And when asked by the court "why don't you want to press charges?" the standard answer is..... drum roll please: because I love him!! What these poor deluded women fail to understand is that that is not love, it is obsession. Like Christians, victims of domestic violence become codependent on their partners for financial support, kids, whatever the reason.

Just like victims of domestic violence Christians are told how horrible they are without Jesus. They are so corrupt that God could not even bear to look at them if it were not for the blood of Christ which washes their dirty sinful garments white. They are told how useless and meaningless their lives are without Jesus. They are reminded how they are formed out of the dirt and how God having given them life could easily take it back.

"See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand." Deuteronomy 32:39 (NIV).

Finally, along with love  theists are told to fear God.

"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28 (NIV).

It's incredible but when you discuss this fear that the good Lord commands, theists rationalize it by saying he did not mean fear as you would fear a serial killer for instance, but rather he means fear as in respect! These are all Christian rationalizations to keep them clinging to their faith. They don't see the blatant threats made in the "good book," nor do they acknowledge the cruelty in their God simply because they are content to believe that he loves them. When it comes to God and his treatment towards man it is my opinion that his love is not different from that of an obsessive domestic abuser. God is a domestic abuser and Christians are not only blinded by faith but they are also blinded by love!

Christians are preconditioned to believe without question.

But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” Exodus 33:20

How convenient! The bible is full of passages that emphasize the necessity for faith and believing entirely without evidence. All Christian believers are pre-suppositionists in that they start from the premise that their God is the one and only true God. One of Christianities top, if not the top apologists William Lane Craig made this abundantly clear in interviews and in his book entitled 'Reasonable Faith.'

"Should a conflict arise between the witness of the Holy Spirit to the fundamental truth of the Christian faith and beliefs based on argument and evidence, then it is the former which must take precedence over the latter, not vice versa." [William Lane Craig, Reasonable Faith: Christian Truth and Apologetics, (Revised edition, Wheaton, IL: Crossway, 1994), p. 36.]

It is thinking like this that makes Christianity and reasonable argumentation impossible. Basically, unless you start with the premise that God exists then you get caught up in an endless loop of circular argumentation. Evidence as viewed from this position takes a back seat to faith and in these types of discussions become moot and irrelevant.

Here is my analogy about faith and Christianity. Imagine that you are told that leprechauns exist and that you must believe in them. Being a true skeptic you ask a few questions. What evidence do you have for the existence of leprechauns? You are then told that rainbows are evidence of the existence of leprechauns and that there is a pot of gold at the end of every one! You then inquire about whether or not this person has ever seen a leprechaun to which you receive a negative reply. You are then told that leprechauns have never been seen because they possess magical powers that make them invisible to man and that they are good at hiding. Finally, you ask this person where they obtained their belief in leprechauns to which they reply that they have read about it in a book of lore and myths!

Christians based their beliefs entirely on the lack of knowledge regarding the origins of both the universe and of life itself. The argument from ignorance states: absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. This argument from the outset in my opinion solidifies William Craigs statement above while at the same time betraying the Christian mentality as irrational as well as illogical. Noted cosmologist and author Victor Stenger refutes this argument quite competently in this artice he posted on The Huffington Post

If you scroll down on that articles comment section you will immediately see a good example of some of the things that I have expressed in this article regarding Christian rationalizations. Finally, I was contacted by a Mr. Jim Morrison who is a high school teacher on world religions. He has some interesting posts which I think you may enjoy. Theists, ask yourself why!

A common slogan I've seen often states: "Read the bible, we need more atheists."

Based on my own personal experience as a former Pentecostal evangelist, I have found that this statement is absolutely true. What it does leave out, is that in order for it to work you also have to read the bible objectively. You have to see the actions of God and judge them as you would the actions of anyone else. It's ironic that the bible states: "So God created mankind in his own image,

in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Genesis 1: 27 (New International Version).

When I read the former verse objectively for the first time, I was reminded of anthropomorphism. I later reversed the order of the verse in my mind to state that man created God in his own image. Anthropomorphism is defined as: "the representation of objects (especially a god) as having human form or traits." The Sage's English Dictionary and Thesaurus.

Keeping that definition in mind, it is not hard to see how if you were to read the bible in its entirety you would find the concept of anthropomorphism rampant within its pages. Every trait of man both positive and negative are used frequently and attributed to God. In the bible, God is said to be merciful, loving, and just. At the same time he is also said to be jealous, angry, and is often said to see, hear, and have feelings like us. It's ironic that theists claim that their god is ineffable:
“incapable of being expressed or described in words; inexpressible: ineffable joy.” But that is exactly what the authors of the scriptures attempt to do! If this is not evidence of anthropomorphism then I don’t know what is.

I've mentioned elsewhere that Christianities Achilles heel lies in the answer to one simple fundamental question. Why? Christians love to state confidently when defending their beliefs; that "science explains the how, but the bible explains the why." This is one of Christianity's biggest lies and it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Faith is not a legitimate method of researching or obtaining knowledge. Faith is the opposite of true knowledge, because taking so called "divine revelation" which is empirically and objectively unverifiable; makes your entire case or study based on blind trust.

It is my belief that when researching any documents of ancient antiquity such as the bible you should at least stick to a simple rule: ask the five W's. Who wrote this and who was the author addressing? What was he writing about? When did he/she write it? Where did he write it? Lastly the biggest W of all, why did he write it? You have to consider not just the context of the text but what was going on at the time it was being written.

When I was reading the bible in its entirety, I asked after every atrocity perpetrated or commanded by God why he did what he did. I didn't see justice in God imposing the death penalty on every one including innocents for the most minor offenses. I saw the opposite of a loving, merciful, and forgiving god. I saw a tyrant! I saw a mass murderer and a criminal on such a grand scale that if those stories were true would make him the worst mass murderer this world has ever known! Why make man and set him up to fail by not warning him of the talking serpent lurking in the garden?

The bible constantly reminds us that we are nothing compared to God and therefore have no right to judge him: "Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?' Does your work say, 'The potter has no hands'? Isaiah 45:9 (New International Version). The biblical God true to his nature commands and you are to obey! Like a human tyrant the penalty is death with the only difference being that with God eternal torment will follow. You are reminded in the bible: "But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." Luke 12:5 ( New International Version). there are several verses of scripture whose only function is to instill fear in order to establish the God myth.

Finally, in closing I challenge all Christians to read the bible objectively. Put your fear or love for your imaginary friend aside and simply ask yourself why. Why is it that things that you would normally find objectionable are okay when God does them? Why does God being the creator of man as you believe, has the right to kill at the slightest provocation and is not viewed as a criminal? I've heard theists say that all the people he killed in the scriptures were sinner and deserved what they got! That's dangerous thinking, and at the same time leads me to believe that you would go through any lengths to justify the actions of your imaginary monster.

Lies and hypocrisy!

Yesterday and today I got into a discussion with a theist and was reminded why I can’t stand them! Have you ever heard this one before? “If you don’t believe in God then why do you talk about him so much?” I talk about him because your silly and inane beliefs are not something that you keep to yourselves. As your churches history shows you try to force feed your insanity to everyone else and go to great lengths to make your lies acceptable and true. Your church affects our countries laws and if it can’t get us through voluntary submission it does so through legislation. It tries to use its power to influence the politics through the manipulation of politicians of our country. Your religion demands that politicians should vote with the cross on their sleeves. Like a good Christian they are expected to vote against a woman’s right to decide whether or not she wants to have an abortion or not.

16There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:17haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,18a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,19a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”

Christians are a living contradiction in that they are pathological liars and see nothing wrong with it when it is done in order to promote their illogical and insane beliefs. Creationist web sites propagate all sorts of lies in order to try and rationalize the irrational.  They make claims in the name of science as if true scientists supported their insane assumptions.

It never ceases to amuse me how hypocritical you have to be to be a Christian! The text I have quoted above is from Proverbs 6:16-19 and is more than fitting of an example on what I am about to discuss. The bible states that there are six things that the Lord hates and as shown it tells you what those six things are, but when you look back at the churches history it has done all of those things in order to establish itself!

It was during the crusades and the various inquisitions that men, women, and children were mercilessly slaughtered to establish political as well as religious dominance. There has been so much bloodshed and senseless loss of life to promote a belief system that is patently false. In the name of Jesus the church has become one of the richest enterprises in the world with its very own form of government. They have confiscated the property of so called heretics and non-believers during the Crusades and have built their empire with deceit, robbery, and torture.

What pisses me off the most is that they claim that they are a not for profit organization! Nothing could be further from the truth. The church rakes in millions of tax free dollars from their various enterprises and donations of its parishioners. The Vatican is a shining example of the hypocrisy that is rampant in the Christian community. A city unto itself the Vatican is literally bathed in gold! I was watching a news report on the vestments of the Pope and was shocked to find out that some of those outfits are actually sown with real gold thread! Not too shabby for a poor non-profit organization. You can read a pretty good and informative article about the Popes vestments here

Supposedly lying is a sin, in fact, that bible says it is one of those things that the good Lord hates! But when you think about Christianity you immediately notice that the entire belief system is based on lies. God is just, good, merciful, loving, etc. Yet he makes hell for the Satan and his angels and anyone else who doesn’t accept him as their master through believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is not a demonstration of compassion or forgiveness it is a demonstration of tyranny. The option to worship God is not really a choice, it is a demand! It says worship me or this will be your fate for all eternity!

Blind faith

As an atheist one of the most common questions I encounter from other atheists is the one about how theists can so firmly believe in the obviously false teachings of Christianity. Author and former pastor John W. Loftus put forth a challenge to theists called the OTF or the outsider test for faith. The challenge asks believers to critically analyze their beliefs with the same criteria that they use to invalidate all other religious beliefs. John Loftus has written a book on this issue but he also does a damn good job at explaining this on his blog  Debunking Christianity.

I find his challenge to be more than reasonable but theists have complained that it is unfair. It is not a difficult challenge nor is it hard to understand, but if you read some of the complaints from theists you would think that they don't understand it at all. When I read about it for the first time I thought to myself that this is the exact process I went through on a mental as well as an emotional level when I finally broke free from Christianity's hold on my life.

One thing I know for sure is that faith is blind and as such is not persuaded by reason alone. True Christian believers who are fully invested in their faith are the hardest to convince since they are invested mentally and emotionally to the fullest extent possible. I was deeply entrenched in the faith and Christianity was my world at one time. It was all I knew and lived for. But the day I read the bible from cover to cover critically I was able to see the lies exposed in the source itself.

The more I read the bible the more questions I had about my faith. The kicker for me came after I had waded through the rivers of blood and mass murder in the bible leading up to Exodus 20 and the ten commandments. In those commandments it is said that God said thou shall not kill; but this led me to ask myself; then what the hell does God call all those murders he perpetrated? The only thing that makes sin sin is that it is offensive to God. But a careful reading of the scriptures would lead one to believe that sin is what God says it is when he says it is. Apparently, those commandments don't apply to him and when you kill in his name as the Hebrews apparently did several times throughout the scriptures its not a sin, because God commanded it at the time.

There are two key concepts in psychology that help clarify why theists have such a hard time seeing reason, especially when it comes to their faith. The first one I would like to discuss is known as compartmentalization. Wikipedia defines it as such:

Compartmentalization is an unconscious psychological defense mechanism used to avoid cognitive dissonance, or the mental discomfort and anxiety caused by a person's having conflicting values, cognitions, emotions, beliefs, etc. within themselves.
Compartmentalization allows these conflicting ideas to co-exist by inhibiting direct or explicit acknowledgement and interaction between separate compartmentalized self states.
This unconscious process makes it possible for an otherwise intelligent person to accept illogical and unreasonable beliefs. Mentally theists separate their faith from any an all ideas that may conflict or challenge it. There are actually scientists who do this on a daily basis when they are working in a lab where they are accustomed to analyze and question everything, but outside of the lab they never think to question their faith as thoroughly as they do other ideas or matters. That is why faith is the cornerstone of Christianity. It doesn't require evidence it just requires that you commit to believing it without evidence. Hence the term blind faith is quite fitting here.

The next key component in psychology that also works hand in hand with compartmentalization is known as confirmation bias. This concept helps theists maintain their faith because it allows them to only accept only "evidence" which seems to confirm what they already believe and discard contradictory ideas.

A confirmation bias is a type of cognitive bias in which people tend to seek out information which agrees with previously held beliefs. They also lend more weight to informational input which supports their beliefs, while discarding contradictory information.

It is because of confirmation bias that theists can't be swayed by evidence that may contradict what they believe. They purposely look past the many contradictions in the bible and the many faults of their God. Despite the facts presented by evolution they still believe in having been created by some invisible guy in the sky. They can't see how ridiculous the tales of the bible are and outright impossible at times. There is nothing crazy about them literally waiting for a man that supposedly lived and died around two thousand years ago. Depite the facts, they still longingly await his so called triumphant return to earth to take them away to their eternal state of bliss in the imaginary utopia spoken of in the bible.

So there you have it, they are not dumb they are just blinded by the delusion of their choice. It's not about intelligence its about faith Religion has evolved along with every scientific discovery to the contrary. When you pick apart one aspect of their faith they just simply look for other irrational reasons to continue to believe the unbelievable.

I don't believe in science!

I would like to start this post off by making a statement that you can all hold me to. I don’t believe in science but I believe in many of the findings of science based on the evidence they have presented. First I would like to start by defining science for you theists in the cheap seats.
The word science comes from the Latin "scientia," meaning knowledge. According to Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary, the definition of science is "knowledge attained through study or practice," or "knowledge covering general truths of the operation of general laws, esp. as obtained and tested through scientific method [and] concerned with the physical world." http://www.sciencemadesimple.com/science-definition.html

The reason I bring this up is that I have heard theists accuse atheist of either “believing” in science in the same way that they believe in God, or worshiping science as if it were a god itself. There are many differences between science and religious beliefs or faith. The most significant difference is that science is belief in something based on evidence and faith is the opposite. Faith could be simply defined as belief in something as fact based on the hope that what you believe is true. In other words faith requires no evidence whatsoever just your acceptance of a belief or doctrine.

Other differences between faith and science is that science does not claim absolute certainty on most matters. Scientists are aware that in light of new evidence that many theories are subject to change, expand, or be discarded entirely. One of the best examples of this was the belief that the earth was the center of the universe (geocentrism) common in ancient Greece and other civilizations of the time. It was later discovered that the earth actually revolved around the sun and that the sun in fact was the center of our universe (heliocentrism).

As I have demonstrated above science has never been afraid of change nor of being proven wrong on certain matters. It’s funny but I have had arguments with theists that actually saw this as a weakness of science! They would point out some of the times where science has had to change their views on some of the theories that they have proposed due to evidence to the contrary. But I personally find this to be one of sciences greatest attributes because it is willing to follow the evidence to wherever it may lead. Contrary to what many theists believe it was not easy for Darwin to publish his findings on evolution because they conflicted with the religious beliefs of the era. His wife was a devout Christian and his early discoveries were starting to show that maybe Christianity was wrong about the origin of species.

It’s ironic that Christianity as a whole makes claims of absolute truth based entirely on faith in the words of what they believe to be divinely inspired ancient texts. But it is because of these claims of certainty that their position is consistently weakened due to the advancement of undeniable scientific knowledge based on evidence.

If anyone has ever taken the time to read some of the literature of say the ID proponents or even so called “biblical archaeology” the most glaring error that will stand out is the methodology used by its scientists. By the way I don’t consider so called science for the faith real science, its methodology reveals that it is more like pseudo-science than actual science.

Pseudo-science: a system of theories, assumptions, and methods erroneously regarded as scientific

Most biblical archeologist based their research on the bible and begin their work not as an expedition of fact finding but in search of confirmation of what they already believe. This is known as confirmation bias and it is in my opinion one of the most obvious and greatest faults that Christian scientist (not the sect) struggle with. Their methodology is different from that of a true scientist; they seek to confirm what they already think to be true based on faith. This problem was also pointed out by the authors of ‘The Bible Unearthed’ Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-bible-unearthed-israel-finkelstein/1017720493?ean=9780684869131

Young earth proponents and biblical archaeologists are not willing to follow the evidence wherever it may lead; they seek to make the evidence fit their prescribed model of what they already believe to be true.

Confirmation bias: is a phenomenon wherein decision makers have been shown to actively seek out and assign more weight to evidence that confirms their hypothesis, and ignore or underweigh evidence that could disconfirm their hypothesis. http://www.sciencedaily.com/articles/c/confirmation_bias.htm

This is the major difference between science and pseudo-science; it is all in the methodology. Ironically, it is because of science that theism has had to change some of its doctrines to conform to the evidence. One example is the belief God created man ex-nihilo (from or out of nothing). The theory of evolution and the overwhelming evidence in its favor has led many otherwise orthodox sects of Christianity to accept evolution as a fact. But not willing to give in without a fight they now state that God used the process of evolution in creation! You just can’t win with theists they are the masters of reinterpretation and misrepresentation especially when it comes to the field of science.

The last statement I have made in the previous paragraph can be proven by simply reading any of the books put out by creationist or ID proponents. Anyone with a basic knowledge of biology, genetics, etc. can easily see the glaring errors and misrepresentations of scientific findings within its pages.
This is my reply to the ridiculous accusations by theists regarding what atheist think or believe about science. We don’t worship science, we don’t believe in it as you believe in your God we take a look at the evidence and then come to our own conclusions. Also, not all atheists even agree on the same scientific evidence so we also tend to disagree amongst ourselves. But the one thing that all atheists do agree on is that we don’t believe in the existence of your God or gods in general.
